Mê-fêhi Bî

Mê-fêhi Bî (/mɘ/ /ˈfɘhi/ [other; spare] [community]) is a subtropical Town located in the Sihîlêsê Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Mê-fêhi Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Mê-fêhi Bî was founded by Brêpîga Trêbe, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Mê-fêhi Bî has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Mê-fêhi Bî receives an average of 217 cm/y (85 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Mê-fêhi Bî covers an area of nearly 4 km² (1 mi²), and an average elevation of 7738 m (-17562 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Mê-fêhi Bî was founded durring the late 17th century in early winter of the year 1576, by Brêpîga Trêbe. The establishment of Mê-fêhi Bî was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Brêpîga Trêbe electing to pay people to resettle in Mê-fêhi Bî.

Mê-fêhi Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Mê-fêhi Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Mê-fêhi Bî is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of restrictive baked earthen streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town posesses a fortified albit thin wall of querried stone. This wall posesses most of the features of a castle wall, though it is constructed from cheeper inferior stone. It would pose a minor chalange for an attacking army, though it's clear the wall's true purpose is to crush the hopes of bandits and marauders. The town's failry decent fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the town's defences.

A look around Mê-fêhi Bî shows Mê-fêhi Bî is little more than a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Birbes can be seen changing hands openly, such that it must be customary to do so and must have been for a long time. The locals have no fear, no annoyance at the state of things, it simply is.

Mê-fêhi Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Mê-fêhi Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Mê-fêhi Bî possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Mê-fêhi Bî has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Mê-fêhi Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Mê-fêhi Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Mê-fêhi Bî's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by vertical proportions, pointed arches, external buttressing, and asymmetry in the general shape of its buildings. The decorative features of the style were key, consisting of large arched windows, pointed arches, vaulted ceilings, flying buttresses, and sculptures integrated into the structure itself. Occasionally, for very important buildings, an array of sculptures or one colossal sculpture might replace the entirety of the entrance to said building.

Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is long in Mê-fêhi Bî.

The Butterfly/Moth near Mê-fêhi Bî are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Mê-fêhi Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves destroying a prepared ritual vessel to channel Mysticism energies of tier 1 via guttural bellowing.

Economy

The following information was obtained via the Imperial Census Bureau as part of the Eyom Economic Outreach Program. It differs from Standard Imperial censuses in that many of Tom's citizens, regardless of culture, work in more than one occupation or hold more than a single job.
